The “Topography of Human Rights” tour highlights places that have either witnessed human rights violations or are symbols of their implementation and preservation.
The emphasis is on the evolution of the Luxembourg people towards an open, democratic and diverse society, whose values are deeply rooted in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
At the same time, it is about showing that society, subject to internal and external influences, is in perpetual change, which makes it fragile and vulnerable.
The aim of this tour is to raise awareness among visitors that democracy and respect for human rights cannot be taken for granted, even in modern states. It is essential to remain vigilant in order to identify and counter negative trends that could endanger society as they emerge.
The audio guides are produced by ACAT Luxembourg and Radio ARA.
In addition to the audio guides, the project consists of a series of workshops for the target communities that have the following common objectives:
Discover and discuss human rights through activities
Discover and discuss the topography of human rights
Enrich the visit with additional information from the community (Portuguese-speaking, Spanish-speaking, Ukrainian, Arabic) of Luxembourg.
The workshops are led by ALDIC, the Luxembourg Association for Intercultural Dialogue.
